Get the Openapi token (formal notice by registered mail)

Create an Openapi account, top up your credit and generate a token with the registered mail scopes: the formal notice to customers who refuse the parcel goes out by registered mail straight from the order.

Updated on November 3, 2026

With the Openapi token, RoyLead sends the formal notice to customers who did not collect the parcel by Italian registered mail, through Openapi's Ufficio Postale service: they print it, put it in an envelope and hand it to Poste Italiane. Everything runs on your Openapi account: you pay for the letters there, with your credit (from about €4 each, plus the return receipt if you want it).

The token belongs to the team: the owner or an admin adds it.

Steps

  1. Go to console.openapi.com and create an account (or sign in).

  2. Open API Library → Postal Service → State. Complete the two requirements, Two factor verification and Data processor agreement (the privacy contract on the data you send, to accept), then press Activate.

  3. Top up the account credit: every letter is charged from there.

  4. Open Authentication in the left menu and, in the Production Token List box, press + New token. Give it a name (e.g. «RoyLead») and a far expiry date (Openapi allows 1 year at most: set that, and note the date, because when the token expires letters stop going out and you need a new one). Tick Postal Service, or just these scopes:

    • POST:ws.ufficiopostale.com/raccomandate
    • GET:ws.ufficiopostale.com/raccomandate
    • PATCH:ws.ufficiopostale.com/raccomandate
    • GET:ws.ufficiopostale.com/dug

Copy the token (24 characters) with the copy icon. Not the API Key at the top: that one is for Openapi only, RoyLead rejects it.

  5. In RoyLead open your team → Customers → Registered mail (Openapi), paste the token and press Save. RoyLead tests it on Openapi before saving it.

How to send

  1. On the order, generate the formal notice as usual.
  2. Press Send by registered mail: sender and recipient are already filled in, fix them if needed.
  3. Prepare and show price: Openapi checks the PDF and tells you the cost.
  4. Send the letter: it goes out. In the same window you then see the registered mail number and the latest postal status.

💡 The token is stored encrypted and never shown again (only the last digits). If you remove it, letters can no longer be sent from RoyLead.

⚠️ Sender and recipient end up on the envelope: each line has a character limit. If a field is too long the dialog marks it in red: shorten it (e.g. «Via Giuseppe Garibaldi» → «Via G. Garibaldi»).
